I fell in love with this little man in my Hunterdon County, NJ studio in February! Meet Orion James♥
Here’s a little astronomy lesson for you: Per Wikipedia: “Orion is a prominent constellation located on the celestial equator and visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous and recognizable constellations in the night sky. It was named after Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology.”
And he was everything stellar that can you imagine! So sweet, happy and content. All less than 6 pounds of him could have fit right in my pocket! His skin was near perfect and he loved to be swaddled. Such a smooth, enjoyable time in the studio that morning. We’re hoping to use this teddy down the road too (milestone session!). That is probably my favorite photo in the galllery (although, I’ll admit, it’s hard to choose!)
Of course, with stars being the central theme here, it was just perfect to put little Ori in the striped star hat too! I just love how adorable he looks all tucked in that little bucket!
Orion even gave me the best baby yawn! It’s so much fun to capture those! So I put together a little triptych of three shots that were taken just frames apart from each other. How quickly they transition between stages of alertness sometimes! Love it!
A special thank you to Stephanie who told me that she’s had me in mind for newborn photos for years. I hope it was worth that wait! In love with your little bundle of joy! Congratulations!

Stephanie Kuran - I’m so excited that our little Orion made the blog. Stefanie’s photos line the walls of our entire house. We are slightly obsessed with her work. People rave about Orion’s photos. The entire session was so relaxing and fun. I waited a long time to be able to work with Stefanie and it was well worth the wait. I can’t wait to watch Orion grow and have Stefanie capture all the special times of his life!
