Hunterdon County, NJ Child Photographer ~Caitlyn and Harrison~

I had had my eyes on this field of black eyed susans for a while – I had found it in the most unusual of places and was over the moon that I had struck photographer’s gold (yes, this is NJ! we get excited over black eyed susans because we don’t have bluebonnets like our southern friends!). One night I dropped off my older two at the ballfield and grabbed my youngest and his little friend Caitlyn (who is also always stuck at the ballfield watching her older sibling play) and we had some of our own fun! Letting kids be kids is what makes smiles genuine! Picking a few flowers, running, finding cool bugs, and giggling makes for a great adventure! Of course, gorgeous backlighting and the promise of ice cream afterward made things even sweeter! And capturing their wonder (and bruised legs!) makes for an authenticity unrivaled by posed photos. I loved every shot from this session so narrowing them down for the blog was tough. I hope you enjoy them as much I do…

As I’m blogging this, I’m already missing the long, hot days of summer. But the promise that it always comes back around allows me to enjoy the other seasons in between (well, maybe except winter…)

 

NJ Child Photographer ~Veronica~

I cannot WAIT to go to this little lady’s first birthday party this weekend, Breakfast at Tiffany’s style!

Miss Veronica most certainly looked the part during her first birthday photo shoot in my Hunterdon County, NJ studio. I have been friends with her Mommy for so many years now, it makes my heart happy to have seen her family grow. Photographing Veronica and her big brother Mason has given me such joy. I love them all so much!

As a child photographer in Clinton, NJ, I get to create all birthday sessions to be special in their own way. Whether it’s a theme, favorite colors, a celebration of the first year’s milestones or just capturing your child’s expressions, a birthday photo shoot is always unique. This birthday session was extra special because Jill and I started out as coworkers years ago and now have more reasons to stay close: our children. We shot the session in two parts (and she came from Staten Island both times!). Of course, in keeping with the party theme, we decked out the studio with Tiffany bags, accents (including a hand painted chandelier by me – fun!), and perfect styling by mom. The images with the vintage headboard are a nod to the part of the movie where there’s a pajama scene. My friend even got the sleeping mask to match! Everything was perfectly coordinated down to the last detail.

And because mommy has been wanting the shot for so long, we HAD to do the Louboutin heels! This girl has STYLE!

For the second part, I styled a girlie sunset shoot complete with lace tent, ruffled and fun accent pillows, flowers, a magic wand (every girl needs one!) and some glitter starts. It was so ethereal and magical…BUT it almost didn’t happen. A passing summer rainstorm had us waiting it out in the car. In the end, it was all worth it as the sun came out and so did Veronica’s smiles. Perfect! And some of my favorite images to date!

So lucky to call this beautiful mama my friend. You are stunning Deirdre. Motherhood already looks good on you so I can’t wait to see your family grow.

This maternity session was filled with dinosaur roars, laughter, sandy hands and feet, and stolen kisses. Wrangling in an almost three year old that I’ve been photographing since birth gave all of us a workout but it all adds to the memories of a beautiful and fun maternity session with a good friend.

Love you guys so much! You are glowing, my friend. And I’m happy to update this post with saying that baby boy has just arrived into the world! I cannot wait to meet and photograph Gabriel!!

This face. This angle. I love it!

Please welcome Alexander and his family to NJ from Miami! And while you’re at it, wish him a Happy First Birthday too! This handsome little guy was in my Hunterdon County, NJ studio for his portrait/cake smash session. I knew that the first shot would be one of my favs as soon as I pressed the shutter! Alexander looked quite dapper and was most certainly not deprived of attention as his family swooned over him (for good reason!) all session. He loved every minute of it!
One of my other favs from the session is the pic with the icing on his toe. A million different ways to caption that one! Just adorable!

Clinton, NJ newborn photographer ~Nicholas~

Baby Nicholas was in the studio recently ~ so content and squishy and obviously adored by his mommy and his aunt who spent the morning relaxing in the studio as I worked with this handsome little man. Love the backdrops and the colors and how babies just fall asleep in buckets! Isn’t it the best?!
Thank you, Dana for bringing Nicholas to see me. I enjoyed our session and all the cuddles I snuck in to get my little baby “fix”!
