Ok- let’s chat about these photos…

First of all, this is Griffin. He is turning one and again, I am just amazed by the growth that happens in the first year of life. He was the sweetest little guy for the portrait part of his session (unfortunately, the cake smash wasn’t met with as much enthusiasm lol). I just love it when children endear themselves to you. Mommy told me how affectionate Griffin is and I was lucky enough to get a few nice big hugs from the little guy while we were shooting. I just about melted right there on the spot.

Secondly, how much fun is it to use some of the same items from his newborn session? If you’ve followed my work for any length of time, you know that this is one of my favorite things to do. And combining it with a baseball setup just ups the ante. Look at how much smaller the bat and balls look. And that bucket? There wasn’t even a chance of getting this little butterball in it!

Now, I want to talk about growth in a different way. I always find that looking back on my work is constructive. It’s good to see progress and to see that experience, seeking opportunities to learn, and hard work benefit my clients. Some key changes were made to my business between his newborn and first year sessions. And because owning a business is a dynamic process, there will continue to be more in the future!

That’s what two year old twin boys are…!!!!
Thankfully, I was able to grab a few shots of each of the boys while they happily played with their birthday balloons, “assisted” me with prop management and kept their mommy and me on our toes! What a joy and a double blessing. Happy Birthday to Vincent and Philip!

So happy to have photographed Jayce again. He was in my Hunterdon County, NJ studio for the Tutus and Rainboots mini sessions and back for his one year birthday portrait and cake smash! Such a fun, sweet boy who was very undecided how he felt about birthday cake. I bet that will change in a year! 😉

O-N-E letters are a very popular first birthday session request. And what I love about them is that each photo I take with each individual letter is telling of the age of the child. Some will mouth the letters, some will throw them, some will put them on their heads, some will peek through the holes. By they time we got to “E”, Jayce was at yet another stage of a one year old {wink}.
